MRI – a new return to the womb

Had my first MRI today and it was interesting, noisy, and scary. Much longer than a CT (e.g., 5 minutes), MRI (e.g., 40 minutes) not only sticks you in a tube where you have to lay still, it makes noises. It makes LOUD noises like in an old Sci-Fi movie: Clickety Clickety Click; Bangety Bangety Bang; BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRT; and so on.

Aside from risk of claustrophobia, it’s safer in many cases than ionizing radiation. But you can’t have any metal in your body for it to work. What will we use when we’re half robot?
